Native to South Africa, this bushy perennial is a great option for rockeries and pots where its 2.5cm (1”) sky-blue daisy-like flowers with yellow centres can be best appreciated. Blooming over a long season from summer through autumn, Felicia amelloides is drought and wind resistant once established and provides an abundance of nectar for pollinating insects. Commonly grown as an impressive and spreading seasonal plant in cottage and Mediterranean gardens, or as colourful edging for paths and borders, ‘Kingfisher Daisy’ requires good drainage and will need frost protection during the winter.

Our rooted cuttings are grown individually in cell trays, each plant measures about 7 - 10cm tall (from the base of the root to the top of the plant). Delivered in plastic-free packaging, they are ideal for keen gardeners who have a greenhouse, where the plants can be grown on until they are ready for planting outside after all risk of frost has passed.

Please note: We grow these cuttings especially for you, so we do request that full payment is made when you place your order. See above for despatch dates for this particular plant. To ensure that your plants arrive in the best possible condition each pack will be despatched individually. Please also be aware that the pot in the photograph is not supplied.

  • Garden care:
Prefers well-drained soil conditions that do not become overly wet during the summer. Deadhead to encourage further flowering. Overwintered plants must be protected during severe and prolonged cold by the use of plant protection fleece, and a thick 2" layer of insulating mulch around the rootzone of the plant to protect the roots from frost. Alternatively, remove and place under glass in a frost-free, brightly lit location.
