The large flowers of this bearded iris are subtly infused with both lilac and yellow, creating an almost ethereal yet luminous head that looks wonderful in the low light. As its name suggests, this gorgeous plant is well suited to the English cottage garden, where it will flourish in a sun-baked spot.
How to care for Iris English Cottage:
Plant crowns shallowly in a sunny spot, firming in the roots while taking care not to bury the lower part of any top growth. Water well and once the plant has started to grow, protect it from wind rock by staking it with a bamboo canes iif necessary. Once established, remove the faded flower stems, cutting them back to their base and relieve congestion by dividing and replanting every 3 years or so.
