Lush purple flowers, each with a yellow-flamed throat and a smattering of greenish brown freckles, form in late spring and early summer on this easy to grow rhododendron. The rich green foliage is retained all year, so it's a wonderful shrub for adding structural interest to a partially shaded spot - and it can also be used for screening or informal hedging.
