flamingo willow

Product Image
This popular ornamental willow is a real eye-catcher! The young stems and new foliage of this deciduous shrub, emerges in a pink and white flush, while the older foliage tends to be predominantly green, but with a few splashes of white. Because it's so showy, Salix intergra 'Flamingo' makes a stunning focal point or specimen plant, and it will also be quite happy in a larger pot if kept well watered.

How to care for Salix integra Flamingo (PBR):

Grow in a sunny spot with moist, fertile soil, adding plenty of well-rotted compost when planting and keeping the plant at the same depth as in the pot. It responds well to regular watering while establishing and will grow happily in the ground or in a large pot, provided the compost stays evenly moist and doesn’t dry out for long periods.

Mulch each spring to help retain moisture and support fresh variegated growth. Prune in late winter or early spring remove any damaged, diseased or crossing stems and lightly trim back older shoots to encourage strong new growth that shows the best pink and cream colouring.
