Produced freely from spring to autumn, the larger than average flowerheads create a real impact in a sunny border. Keep cutting them for the vase to encourage more to form (they look great in more naturalised arrangements), but keep plenty for the bees and butterflies - it's a firm favourite of theirs.

Protect young plants from slug damage using environmentally friendly slug pellets or beer traps. Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering and cut back the faded flower stems in autumn.
