Soft, buttery blooms splashed with rich crimson markings bring a warm, summery feel to planting schemes, sitting neatly above a mound of rounded, fresh green leaves that keep the plant looking full and lively.
Tropaeolum majus 'Peach Melba' is a compact, dwarf nasturtium that’s perfect for edging borders, filling gaps in beds, or brightening up containers and window boxes, where it will flower freely right through the season. The open, single flowers are not just decorative but edible too, with a light peppery kick that works well in salads, while the seeds can also be used in the kitchen.
Easy to grow from seed and happiest in a sunny spot with well-drained soil, it’s a reliable choice for adding colour with modest effort, and can even be allowed to gently trail or spill for a softer, more relaxed look.
