Aquatic Plants

In smaller ponds, water lilies should be potted up as this will help prevent them getting too big. The best thing to use is a specialist aquatic compost that is low in nutrients. You can also pot up marginal aquatic plants and plants that prefer shallow water, and use these to soften the boggy edges of a pond.
