Each pack will have a minimum of 100 newly hatched baby worms and 100 cocoons (eggs). A cocoon usually produces one or two worms. As the baby worms hit adulthood, they will start producing their own cocoons.
The worms are raised in a commercial wormery in West Yorkshire. Both the feed and bedding they use are 100% peat and chemical free.
Suitable for use in both indoor worm bins and outdoor gardening waste composters. If using indoors keep your bin damp and warm to encourage cocoons to hatch. The hatching process may be slower in outdoor composters if temperatures are lower.
If you’d like to help your young worms grow and fatten up, we also have a worm food (sold separately). This is chemical free, all natural and vegan and contains minerals to boost gut health so worms can digest more efficiently.
