Showy clusters of large white blooms make Cercis 'Texas White' a standout flowering tree. This spreading, multi-stemmed redbud cultivar bears abundant milky-white flowers up to 2.5cm (1in) long on bare branches before the heart-shaped leaves emerge. The waxy foliage starts out bronze before maturing to a glossy green, turning lovely shades of yellow in autumn while dangling seed pods provide extended seasonal interest. Hardy and drought tolerant when established, this Texas native is an ideal focal point or specimen tree.

How to care for Cercis canadensis Texan White:

Plant in their final location when young as they resent being transplanted. Requires minimal pruning. Remove any broken, diseased or crossing branches in late autumn or winter. When planting incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole and stake firmly.
