A semi-evergreen alpine-type perennial with small, violet and white, lobelia-shaped flowers. Lindernia grandiflora bears fleshy, rounded to heart-shaped, bright green leaves. Great for seasonal pots and baskets, as well as rockeries and border fringes, this moisture-loving plant will also creep along nicely beside a pond until the first frosts. - Garden care: Bog gardens and pond margins are ideal for this plant, which thrives in damp, poorly drained soil. Plant in a full or partly sunny location with any aspect other than north-facing. Protect with horticultural fleece or straw against severe or prolonged frosts. Lindernia prefers soils that are rich in organic matter. To encourage bushy growth, pinch back the tips of the plant regularly.
