Narcissus 'Salome'

large cupped daffodil bulbs

Product Image
The flowers of this large-cupped daffodil can grow up to 9cm (4in) across, so they put on an impressive display when they appear in early spring. One of the most intriguing features of Narcissus 'Salome' however is the way the ruffled cup changes in colour from butter yellow to apricot as the flower matures. Bred in Ireland in 1958 by Lionel Richardson, it is still as popular today as it ever was.

How to care for Narcissus Salome:

Wearing gloves plant bulbs 10-15cm (4-6in) deep and 10cm (4in) apart in autumn. After flowering feed with a balanced fertiliser, deadhead the flowers, but do not be tempted to cut back or tidy the foliage after flowering as this will interfere with the bulbs’ ability to store energy for the following year's flowers.
